Employment Support Specialist
Make a meaningful impact by helping individuals overcome employment barriers and reach their vocational potential.
Collaborate closely with the Program Services Manager to develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans.
Facilitate training, social skill development, and work experiences to enhance vocational skills.
Play a crucial role in bridging the gap between employers and individuals facing unique challenges.
Contribute to the education of the business sector about the diverse needs of the population we serve.
Minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary training or relevant experience in human services, human relations, or marketing.
Understanding of employment barriers like mental illness, intellectual and learning disabilities.
Experience working with individuals facing challenges and human service agencies preferred.
Familiarity with the demands of competitive industries.
Job development and placement experience is beneficial.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in computer skills is a plus.
Creative, innovative, and open to new ideas.
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record for external programs.
CPR and First Aid Certifications (Med certification preferred).
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if needed.
Successful completion of a background study as required.
Develop and implement career plans for individuals with employment barriers.
Supervise individuals and Employment Support Specialists.
Assist referrals with career development and job seeking skills.
Liaise between employers and the team to secure employment opportunities.
Educate businesses about the needs of the population.
Uphold the mission, vision, and ethical standards.
